Fossil Palm Plate Framed. From the Famous Green River Formation, Wyoming. This area of now present day Wyoming once had a series of inland lakes. Over time these lakes went through many climatic changes, some including a humid environment and also an arid desert climate. This leaf was preserved when it fell into sediment therefore cutting off oxygen preventing bacteria from eating the soft tissues.
