Framed Palm with 3 FISH
Frame 35” wide 29” tall and 2.5” deep
Fossil 25.5” wide x 19” tall
This fish and palm partial dates back about 52 million years ago and truly captures a scene of what life was like back then. The three fish are Knightia; with the largest specimen measuring about 1.5” long. The palm is preserved beautifully as it fans across the limestone. It was found in western Wyoming.
This piece is ready for you to hang in any space. It has been framed in a relief format; behind the fossil is a light caramel color matting that is soft in texture and the frame is coffee colored and mimics burl wood. This combination perfectly pulls the natural texture and color from within the fossil. It is easy to imagine this piece in a study, above a mantle, or part of a gallery wall.
